Safeguard Your Passport

- Please sign your passport (in ink) as soon as you receive it.

- Write your current address (in pencil), in the space provided.

- Fill in the emergency contact section (in pencil).

- Make several photocopies of your passport identification page. Keep them separate from your passport. Leave a copy with family or friends at home, along with your itinerary.

- Do not pack your passport in your purse, wallet, or luggage. Whenever possible, keep your passport locked in a safety deposit box at your hotel.

- When you must carry your passport on your person, keep it hidden, preferably under your clothing in a special pouch.

- Before you ravel, learn about the countries you plan to visit and find out if there are visa requirements or requirements that you have a passport valid for a minimum period of time*. This will avoid last minute problems.

*some countries require a passport be valid for 6 months beyond travel.
