*Airline Taxes and Fuel Surcharge is  included in the tour price. The current rate is$600. This fee is set by the airline and Madison Tours has no control nor receives advance notice of changes. Due to fluctuating oil prices, the fee may change. The airline will only guarantee the fee at time of ticketing, about six weeks before departure. If the airline impose an increase, the difference will be collected before departure.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Tues, Feb 19—Depart Los Angeles on KLM #602 at 1:50 p.m. for your flight to Amsterdam.

Day 2, Wed, Feb 20—Arrive in Amsterdam at 9:05 a.m.  A representative will meet and begin your tour of this fascinating city. A short drive will take you to the city center to visit the Anne Frank House where her Jewish family hid for 2 years from the Nazis. The best way to explore the city of Amsterdam is by boat. We embark on a cruise through the canals of Amsterdam. Enjoy lunch on the boat as your guide gives you explanations of the city. Before returning to the airport, we will visit a historic windmill. Transfer back to the airport and board KLM #461 at 8:50 p.m. for your flight to Tel Aviv. Early morning arrival in Tel Aviv then transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 3, Thurs, Feb 21—A late morning start begins our Israel Tour. After a delicious Israeli breakfast, we drive to Caesarea Maritima. We will see an ancient Roman theater, remains from Herod’s Palace, a Hippodrome and water cisterns. We will visit Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal. We will drive by Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, and continue to the Caesar Hotel on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 4, Fri, Feb 22—We start today with a special time of worship as we sail across the Sea of Galilee in a replica boat of 2,000 years. We visit the ancient boat discovered by two fishermen in 1986. Next we travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus activities in the Galilee. We will walk on the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount, and then visit Tabgah where Jesus fed 5,000 on the shores of the Galilee. We end the day with an opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River.

Day 5, Sat, Feb 23— Leaving the Galilee area, we drive down the Jordan Valley to explore the latest excavations at Beit Shean, Israel’s largest excavation and where the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung after their defeat on Mt. Gilboa. We visit the natural springs where Gideon brought ten thousand to be tested. Continue down the Jordan Valley, driving by Jericho and the Mount of Temptations, and enter Jerusalem.  At Mt. Scoups we will offer the traditional blessing as pilgrims have done for thousands of years. We then transfer to the Dan Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 6, Sun, Feb 24—We begin today on the Mt. of Olives where we will hear an explanation of the city, then walk down the Palm Sunday road to the Garden of Gethsemane. At Mt. Zion, we visit Caiaphas’ House where Jesus was held before trial. This afternoon we visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. We will see the Shepherds field wihere the birth of Jesus was announced and the Church of the Nativity, the traditional site of Jesus’ birth.

Day 7, Mon, Feb 25—This morning we visit the Old City of Jerusalem. We begin at the Pools of Bethesda, where Jesus healed the lame man. We will walk through the Old City following the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Continue  through the Old Arab markets and Jewish Quarters to see the ancient Roman Cardo and the remains from Hezikiah’s wall. Next visit the Western Wall for a personal time of reflection and prayer, and walk through the Western Wall Tunnel to see underground excavation of ancient Jerusalem. Next we explore the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount and see a virtual tour of the Second Temple.

Day 8, Tues, Feb 26—Today we travel to the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea, we will visit Qumran, the ancient city of the Essenes and site of the Dead Sea Scrolls discovery.  We stop an Ein Gedi to see the waterfalls where David hid from Saul. Then to Masada where we will ascend by cable car to tour the famous archaeological site, an ancient fortress, where Jewish Zealots made their last stand against Rome in 73 CE. Before returning to Jerusalem we will stop for an opportunity to “float” in the waters of the Dead Sea.

Day 9, Wed, Feb 27—Today is a free day to shop, rest or explore on your own. Your guide will offer many suggestions on activities to   for the day.

Day 10, Thurs, Feb 28—The new excavations of the ancient City of David begin our final day in Israel. Here you will see some of the most exciting archeological finds. Our tour of the City of David takes us through an ancient Canaanite tunnel and ends at the recently discovered Pools of Siloam. We continue our day visiting the sites of new Jerusalem. We visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum, in honor of the millions that were killed by the Nazi’s. We then visit the Israel Museum to see the Jerusalem model from the time of Christ and the Dead Sea Scrolls found at Qumran. We end our time in Jerusalem at the Garden Tomb, one of the sites believed to be the burial site of Jesus.  Enjoy a farewell dinner as we say goodbye to Israel.  Transfer to the airport for late night departure on Delta #269 to JFK New York.

Day 11, Fri, Mar 1—After customs in New York, transfer to Delta #120 and arrive in LAX at 12:08 p.m. with a lifetime of memory of your Journey to the Land of the Bible.

Reservation is made with a $500 deposit per person. All rates are in US dollars, per person, double occupancy. Unless passenger has a preferred roommate, MTT will make every effort to assign a suitable roommate. MTT is not responsible for, nor does it guarantee the finding of a roommate. If no roommate is available for placement, the applicable single room supplement will apply. Tour price is based on a minimum number of passengers. Should the minimum number not be met, tour price would be subject to change. The tour price reflects a discount for purchases paid by cash or check. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted as a convenience to our customers and are subjected to a 3% non-refundable convenience fee. Fuel Surcharge: Fuel Surcharge is not included in the tour price. This fee is set by the airline and MTT has no control nor do we receive advance notice on any changes. MTT reserves the right to amend your tour price if necessary. Cancellations: Full refund, less $100 handling fee, will be made up to 120 days before departure: 119-60 days, $350; 59-30 days, 50% of tour price; less than 29 days, non-refundable. All applicable airfare and overseas operation cancellation fees will be added to the above. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and will take effect upon date of receipt by MTT. Unused portions of the tour costs are not refundable. Travel Insurance: We strongly advise cancellation insurance, which may grant full refund in case of illness or unforeseen events. Travel insurance also covers emergency medical expenses, trip interruption or missed connection and baggage delay. You will find policy details and coverage in the insurance brochure that will be sent to each passenger after the initial deposit and registration has been received, or you may visit www.madisontravel.com for more information. Not included in tour price: Travel Insurance, excess baggage charges, meals other than those provided for, items from hotel room, mini-fridge, telephone calls, laundry, bottled water, liquors, after dinner coffee or tea, personal items, US Customs & Immigration fee, if any, anything not mentioned as included and anything of a personal nature. Please Note: A $50 charge per person, per change will be assessed for any deviation from the prepared tour itinerary. No changes accepted within 30 days of departure. The fare is based on advance purchase excursion rates. The services of any IATA or ARC carrier may be used in conjunction with the tour. MTT act only in the capacity of agents for all vendors. By acceptance of tour membership, the tour member agrees that neither the tour operator, nor any of its employees or affiliates shall be liable for any strikes, riots, terrorism, wars, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, improper visas, passports or other travel documents, defaults, delays, loss or damage resulting from negligence of any vendor. By embarking upon this tour, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks of damage or loss involved, expected or unexpected. Tour operator reserves the right to refuse any person, before, or during the tour, and to make any changes to the tour should circumstances warrant.
